Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations. Description
Under general supervision, supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff for assigned work unit.
Implement production plans according to approved schedule.
May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult.
Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies any problem areas, and may direct remedial action.
Conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
Prepares estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities.
Maintains an inventory of parts and materials. Approves purchases of materials and equipment; maintains time, materials and equipment use reports. Requisitions tools, supplies, materials and equipment.
Trains staff in safety procedures. Maintains safety data sheets for crews.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and five years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in HDPE pipe repairs and handling
Ability to obtain pit driver certification
Experience in working in an Acid Plant and/ or mining environment
Previous experience with running a crew and handling projects
Willing to be on call on nights and weekends
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $76,000-$104,000 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
