*Where You Will Work   *

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration.  In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

Description

Lead tasks in support of Financial Reporting management, including research and documentation of accounting policies and standards, as well as the hands-on preparation of financial statement and footnote disclosure for both FCX as well as other FCX entities. Oversee and supervise Financial Reporting Accountants and Analysts (Staff), as directed by Management, in certain selected areas. Develop skills to be able to review work prepared by the Financial Reporting Staff prior to Management’s review.

  • Accounting Policies and Standards: Research and documentation of accounting policies and standards. Assist management in assessing the related impacts on the company and provide recommendations for implementation. Perform initial research/analysis and prepare draft documentation/memos for management’s review. Work directly with the company’s internal and external auditors on conclusions of effectiveness of accounting policies and implementation of accounting standards.

  • Quarterly/Annual Reporting: Provide assistance to the Financial Reporting team in the preparation of company’s Form 10-Q/K (i.e., financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, etc), quarterly earnings release and other internal management reports. Includes hands-on preparation as well as the oversight of the Staff. Review the items initially prepared by the Staff. Oversee the preparation of the company’s SEC filings in EDGAR, including Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (iXBRL). Use iXBRL to tag disclosures and resolve iXBRL errors and warnings prior to filing.

  • Statutory Reporting: Supervise Staff in the preparation and initial review of certain statutory reports. Includes the review of additional statutory reports prepared by other accounting departments, including site personnel.

  • Monthly Close: Prepare and/or review account reconciliations and other monthly/quarterly reports prepared for complex accounting areas such as derivatives, pension, environmental obligations, litigation and stock-based compensation.

  • Other: Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed. This may include the delegation of certain tasks to Staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area and six (6) years of related Accounting experience, including two (2) years of project management and/or decision- making responsibilities;

OR

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related area and four (4) years of accounting experience, including two (2) years of project management and/or decision-making responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA

  • Experience with Workiva, EDGAR, Hyperion Financial Management and/or SAP

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator. Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting.

  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.

  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $ 93,000-$130,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
